Now, with most hunting seasons behind us, it would be an excellent time to check all our hunting equipment and make sure it is cleaned and ready for next year's use, before putting it away until then.
Cleaning and oiling of hunting boots, along with washing and checking all hunting clothing for tears that need repair, or possibly replacement.
Cleaning and oiling of all weapons would also be an excellent idea, along with making sure that before we put up any weapon, we coat it lightly with oil on the outside too. Running a patch with light oil down the barrel before putting that rifle away for several months is almost mandatory, if we don't want to find any unexpected surprises next fall too.
Just some thoughts. |
