EL PASO, Texas (AP) - El Paso police say 1 of their officers fatally shot a car-theft suspect after the officer was struck by the suspect's getaway van.
Investigators say officers closed in on four suspects last night when they saw the men trying to steal a vehicle from the parking lot of Cielo Vista Mall.
The men fled in a van, which hit an officer's unmarked car. Police say the officer got out of the car and was hit by the van, which dragged him across the mall's parking lot.
